Step 1 — Pick a service and browse the menu
Find a delivery service that covers your town. Verify they actually deliver to your zip — many services advertise statewide but only run a few zones reliably.
Browse the menu online. Most services post live menus with strain names, prices, weights, and product photos. Note product availability — strains rotate, so what's listed today may not be there tomorrow.
Step 2 — Place your order
Add what you want to your cart. Enter your delivery address (include unit number, gate code, building name if relevant).
Select your payment method. Most NJ services accept Zelle, Venmo, Cash App, PayPal, and cash. Digital payment usually means faster dispatch because there's no cash collection delay.
Confirm your phone number — the driver will text you when they're on the way.
Step 3 — Pick a delivery window
Most services offer same-day delivery (45-90 minute window from order) or scheduled windows (pick a 30-60 minute slot later in the day or next day).
Same-day is faster on average. Scheduled is more reliable if you need a specific time. For first-time orders, scheduled gives you a buffer to be ready.
Step 4 — Driver arrives, ID verification
You'll get a text when the driver is en route, usually with an estimated arrival time. Some services send a tracking link.
When the driver arrives at your door, they'll ask for valid government-issued ID. They check that you're 21+, the name matches, and the photo matches. This takes 30 seconds.
If the ID doesn't check out (expired, wrong person, under 21), the driver leaves with the product. No exceptions.
Step 5 — Pay and receive
For digital payment, you typically pay before the driver leaves their previous stop or upon arrival via the linked payment app.
For cash, count it in front of the driver — they need to verify the amount.
You receive your product, the driver leaves. That's it. Most services follow up with a text asking if everything was good.
Common questions for first-timers
Q: Is the driver in uniform / branded vehicle? Usually no — most services use discreet vehicles to avoid drawing attention to your address.
Q: Is the product in branded packaging? Yes for licensed dispensaries; varies for delivery services. Either way, packaging is usually plain brown bag for discretion.
Q: What if I'm not home when they arrive? Most services will wait 5-10 minutes, then leave and reschedule. You may pay a redelivery fee.
Q: Can I return product if I don't like it? No — cannabis sales are final once delivered. Most services will replace if there's a genuine defect (sealed package issue, wrong product) — call them right away.
